Personality Traits Not Linked To University Choice

Thursday, March 4th, 2010

People have believed that for a very long time now that personality traits would influence the choice of what university someone would pick but recent studies show that it does not. The point of this was done because of people thinking that it was all about the traits and to see if that played into what a person picked for classes and other things but now they have proven it to not be true.

The University of Cadiz conducted the study and did a lot of research to see if this was true. They did interviews and questionnaires. They tested over 735 students from secondary schools. After they had finished testing everyone and questioning them they where able to conclude that personality traits are not linked with picking out your university. The main researcher of the group study is Manuel Antonio Garcia Sedeno and he confirms what the data says. He is a professor of Educational Psychology and Evolutionary with the UCA.

Manuel believes that the results show that the personality questionnaires with the career guidance process might have to be reconsidered because the information given should be relevant and right now it is not because of what this study shows.
