Foreign Minister Claims That Indian Students Are Not Under A Personal Attack
Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010In Australia there has been an increased attack on the Asian students. People feared that they were being singled out because of the rise with racial attacks but foreign minister Stephen Smith said that they are not at all and the government is hoping that they can have a data analysis done regarding the attacks. This analysis will help by giving them more answers about the attacks going on and will confirm if the students are or they are not being singled out.
Smith said that while they do not feel the students that are Indian are being singled out in the crowd they still can not assert to what they say because they have not done the proper research yet to see and that is why they want the Institute Of Criminology helping out with the study.
They have arrested at least 70 people because of these attacks. They do not take things lightly when it comes to attacking people. They want the Indian students to feel and experience what Australia does without having fear of being attacked. The case will be watched after very closely by the police and with the minister and things will be handled accordingly.
